Sewer cleaning is something Hydro Cleansing are the go to guys for. Cleaning a London mainline sewer requires some complex logistics and expert engineers. From cranes, to penstocks, to 500m of jetting hose, this one required a specialist approach.
The sewer had to be cleared of silt in order to allow an inspection of the sewer to take place. The line was 20% full of waste and a risk assessment had established that the risk was significant enough to require all of the silt to be removed before the inspection was undertaken.
The sewer water was diverted by lowering the penstock which sent the flow of water through an alternative sewer. This penstock didn’t keep all of the water out and so the remaining storm water had to be continuously pumped away from the chamber where the engineers were working. This was 45m deep! A crane was supplied by the client to lower in the pumps and hoses.
From there our engineers could remove the silt and MEGATRON, the largest vacuum tanker in Europe, vacuumed it up the 45m into bulk tankers for disposal. MEGA REEL, the longest jetting reel available at 500m allowed the confined space engineers to jet as far into the sewer as they were required to. This loosened the silt and meant it could be sucked up the hoses at astounding speed!
The sewer cleaning was carried out during the night as the flow of waste water is lower. Without the awesome power of Megatron, the specialist hose of Mega Reel of the expertise and commitment of our engineers, this job would have taken weeks. It was completed in a few nights!
The great fire of London set alight the pride of a city which bounces back from whatever disaster the world can throw at it! London is one of the most resilient and unflappable cities in the world. Hydro Cleansing are very proud to work with so many prestigious London institutions. From the Royal Parks to Thames Water, to Downing Street and the Super Sewer; we’ve worked across the length and breadth of the city. Not only that but we’ve fixed simple domestic problems and helped to deliver some of the most ambitious projects in wet waste management.
After the great fire of London the city revived it’s spirit in a matter of weeks and began to develop into Sir Christopher Wren’s vision of it. After that Sir Joseph Bazalgette took the elegance of Wren’s design underground! He delivered the most revolutionary sewer system in the world.
The foresight of Bazalgette is well documented and something that Hydro Cleansing aspire to.
Above ground, the city was still knee deep in waste. Road sweepers earned a respectable living and this developed into the awesome machines we have. Mega Sweep is a planned and reactive service. Working out of Croydon, our sweepers will go anywhere! Of course Hydro Cleansing wants world domination for our Road Sweepers! The Mega Sweeps are awesomely powerful and have an incredible 8 tonne capacity! We’ll always remain loyal to Croydon, Sutton and London but we’ll take them anywhere! From Azerbaijan to Zanzibar; from the Isle of Wight to the white cliffs of Dover, Mega Sweep will clear the leaves, debris, flood waste, oil etc. of the whole world!
London will always survive and so will Hydro Cleansing!
Staggering success for Great Britains’ Olympic team makes this Olympics the greatest! London 2012 had a massive impact on the country’s sporting culture, but Rio’s results are outstanding! From blue to green and back to blue the wet waste maintenance overcame their challenges too! Athletes came from nowhere to claim Gold medals, new stars shone with world records, set personal bests and won the most medals EVER!
GLORY FOR TEAM GB!
Adam Peaty, the women’s hockey team, Andy Murray, the Brownlee brothers, Mo Farah and Max Whitlock cement their stardom!
Rio 2016’s wet waste management team also overcame major challenges to succeed.
The now infamous green pool was saved from the algae and returned to a dazzling blue by the maintenance team.
The controversy of petrol station graffiti/drive by robbery with the US swimmers let the world know that not only was a petrol station in Rio De Janerio up to standard with its petrol interceptor, they also weren’t about to be walked over by the swimmers!
Dangerous sailing conditions were dealt with and the competitions went ahead. The kayaking course maintained its flow and meant an awesome GB win for Olympian Joseph Clarke!
Hydro Cleansing held our own as Megatron raced Usain Bolt with vacuum suction, confined space crews competed against the sailing teams for risk management and Mo Farah’s speed equalled our super combination units’ interceptor cleaning!
