“On the third day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me ,
three Septic Tanks,
two feet of tree roots,
and Hydro Cleansing’s Mega-Heat…”

Much like Hydro Cleansing, your cesspit is working 24/7, so it makes sense to keep it properly maintained. The same as any investment, it is important to take care of your septic system so that it can continue working effectively.

Unfortunately, septic systems are often overlooked. This can be due to the location of the tank, lack of information, or as an effort to save money . Without proper care and maintenance cesspits and septic tanks fall into disrepair. In the worst cases, the tank would then need to be cleaned, removed and replaced. To help avoid this, make sure that you are regularly servicing and emptying your septic system. If properly looked after they can last anywhere from 25-30 years.

Why Look After A Cesspit?

We always advise customers to check out The Environment Agency’s guidelines and schedule regular maintenance.  We offer regularly scheduled cesspit tank emptying at times convenient for you, preventing the risk of blocked drains and flooded gardens!

How Much Does It Cost?

Our cesspit emptying costs depend on various factors. From the size of the tank, the frequency with which we need to empty it and the volume of waste that we remove.
Generally, domestic cesspits can hold around 4500 litres of waste, we include removal of up to 9000 litres in our standard cesspit empty to make sure you’re covered. (We also won’t charge you VAT for domestic empties.)
Our cesspit maintenance, emptying and and cleaning prices range from £250+. There are a variety of factors to take into consideration when pricing, this is why we offer a free quote, and if necessary, a free site visit.

Why Service Regularly?

We offer bespoke contracts and schedules for maintaining cesspits and septic tanks. Generally, septic tanks and cesspits should be emptied on at least a biannual basis to avoid saturation of the soakaways.  This of course depends on the level of usage and requirements of the cesspit or septic tank, something that our teams can discuss with you.

Don’t Let A Flood Ruin Your Festive Cheer!

Hydro Cleansing Will Support You Through the Flooding Season.

Following Storm Angus, Wales and the South of England are currently being battered by high winds and even higher levels of rain fall, and as your Mother would say; prevention is better than cure! If that doesn’t inspire you to get outside and start checking your culverts and clearing your drains, then take a look at some of our flood work from previous years.

Clearing a Culvert Under the A3 Highway:

Here are some of our engineers clearing a culvert beneath the A3 on behalf of a local council. Our expert engineers were down there, in full confined space PPE to cut through the build up of silt with high pressure jets, and of course Megatron, which was on site to suck the waste away for disposal at an impressive 6000 cubic feet per minute. Megatron’s state of the art liquid ring pump creates a vacuum within the bulk tanker in order to efficiently fill it with waste, and also allows a second bulk to replace it while it disposing of the waste. This meant that the work could be continuous and we didn’t have to deploy extra vehicles which allowed us to get the job done quickly.

Flood Response at a Nursing Home in Bristol:

Saving your granny is all in a days work for our teams, or at least back in June it was. We sent out our specialist engineers in a combination vacuum tanker unit to help out a nursing home near Bristol, where the flood waters were about to reach the property. The power of our tanker meant our team could remove the water from the flooded garden area and front of the property where the flood was disrupting traffic and scaring pensioners. Job done!

Bollards London security

Safety starts at home and as a bold and bright team, we take having a culture of safety within the company very seriously. Hydro Cleansing’s drivers are regularly trained and tested. We have a zero tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol on our depot and office premises. Sniffer dogs are brought in at random to maintain this level. We go to every possible length to keep the public safe.

The threat of flash flooding is something that we can all do more about though. Excellent level of maintenance on drainage systems, culverts, sewers, interceptors, pump stations, etc gives the highest possibility of keeping the sudden onslaught of flash flood water at bay.

Our flood response varies from job to job. For example, clearing flood water from basement stairwells, sucking the waste water from sodden ground to prevent it entering an at risk building, and vacuuming water from essential transport routes such as the highways! If you’re caught because of a flash flood on a motorway around London, chances are the most awesome of tanker companies are already on their way!
